The Northern Nevada broadcasting community is joining family, friends and neighbors in sending heartfelt prayers and support to Eddie and Shari Floyd following a devastating fire that reportedly left the couple critically injured and claimed the life of their beloved dog.
According to information provided to our news team, Eddie and Shari were alerted during the emergency that fire was threatening their ranch and that they needed to evacuate immediately.
The couple reportedly attempted to leave the property in separate vehicles with their dog. During the evacuation, circumstances led them back toward the property to retrieve needed medication. Conditions quickly became extremely dangerous as heavy smoke and flames surrounded the area.
During the emergency, one of the vehicles reportedly caught fire. Tragically, their beloved dog did not survive.
Eddie and Shari were able to contact emergency services after becoming stranded outside the vehicle. Both reportedly suffered extensive burn injuries and were transported by Care Flight for specialized treatment at UC Davis Medical Center, where they are reported to remain in critical condition.
News of this tragedy has deeply saddened the entire team and staff of KNNR 103.3 FM and 1400 AM, KPGF 93.7 FM, American Matters Media, Northern Nevada’s Voice and Faces of Success Radio.

Our hearts also go out to the family over the heartbreaking loss of their dog. For so many of us, our pets are members of our families, making this loss especially painful during an already unimaginable tragedy.
