oday, community members across Reno and Sparks gathered in a peaceful protest against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), standing in solidarity with immigrant families and calling for humane and just immigration policies. Residents, advocates, faith leaders, workers, and allies came together to send a clear message: immigrant families deserve dignity, safety, and respect.
The demonstration remained nonviolent and community-centered, emphasizing unity, compassion, and accountability. Reno and Sparks are built on diversity. Many speakers and participants highlighted the fear and instability immigrant families face due to detention, deportation, and family separation, while reaffirming that immigrants are essential to the social and economic fabric of Northern Nevada.
The protest focused on: • Protecting immigrant families • Opposing inhumane detention and deportation practices • Demanding transparency and accountability • Affirming that immigrants belong in our community Organizers emphasized that today’s action was not about division, but about human rights and shared values.
